No don’t worry I’m not going to start a bible thumping or anti-Christ post here! Anyway I am not “religious” in the traditional sense although I know quite a bit about Christianity.
My anecdote starts at the point when we are born. It’s a general assumption that we are all born clean and “free from sin”, if you want to call it that. We are all just tiny blank canvasses waiting to be scrawled upon by some talented and some not so talented artists.
Now what if that were not the case. What if we were born into Hell and our lives did not begin at birth, we were just being given another chance to prove ourselves worthy to get to Heaven. You see I just can’t get my head around the concept of a fiery abyss where “bad people” go to be tormented forever. However I can believe that we are all given this chance to learn and experience life on Earth as a precursor to attaining true happiness in Heaven.
Those of us who don’t not succeed are merely given a second chance to “make things right” by being born again into this world. Those of us who are chosen worthy may ascend to Heaven to live in a place where life is good for everyone.
This belief of mine has little to do with the bible or traditional religion. The terms Heaven and Hell could easily be substituted with Utopia and Suffering.
So in this “school of learning” on Earth, we should all try to contribute as much positivism as possible. After all the very future happiness of our souls depend on it.
Strange that you would use the word “chosen” as a vehicle for asending to shall we say heaven or a good place I have another story for that, perhaps at another time. But for now–personally, I have experienced a family member who had died and I did not know it until I had a dream. In this dream my uncle was in a classroom, with a female teacher–I was told this place was the collective unconscious–he was being re-schooled. He had a hard life–traumatised from a major war, treated harshly by his wife and children, and with poor coping skills–he fell by the wayside. This was his second chance to be reeducation, to return to life for a second chance to get it right.
Within the past 3-weeks I have had the pleasure to see a 1-year old boy, who I belive to be the reincarnation of my uncle. This child looked me dead in the eyes and laughed, then proceeded to mimick certain facial movememts that my uncle did. I intuitively knew he was trying to let me know it was him, that he was here, pleased with his new body, and wanting to share with me his happiness. Each time we looked at each other we broke out in laughter, it was a wonderful experience.
I also have another story about the demension called hell. For another time.
LOL
Truth can be stranger than fiction.
Hiya Karen –
Lovely anecdote and it must have been heart-warming for you. My belief is less that or reincarnation in the traditional sense. I’m not so certain that we would even “know” who we were in a previous life but I do believe that our previous “persona” might have an effect on our current incarnation. It would be interesting to hear your anecdote concerning the demension of hell?
