1877 – Moonlight Graham was born. He was an American Baseball player who “played” for the NY Giants. Zero at bats and zero total chances in the field, his first and last game were the same day.
1945 – Neil Young was born. Known for many rock classics including one of my favorites “Old Man” written in 1972. Mr. Young turns 64 sorry for the pun.

1903 – On Thursday, October 1, the first game of the Modern Day Baseball World Series was played, hence giving its name the October Classic. Baseball has been around for over 150 years and before this day the championship went to whatever team had the best record.
1963 – Baseball Player, Mark McGuire was born
1971 – Walt Disney opens Disney World in Orlando, Florida.
2009 – The 39th President of the United States Jimmy Carter celebrates his 85th birthday, he was born in 1924.
